BIOGRAPHY

BillyRay Sheppard, a saxophonist living in San Antonio Texas, has musical roots that run deep, with his earliest musical experiences in Blues, R & B, Reggae, Latin, Tejano and Country. It's his love for music that keeps him grounded and his love for jazz that keeps him performing.
A "first call" contemporary jazz performer, BillyRay has shared his talents on stage or in studio with notable genre stars Steve Oliver, Peter White, Adam Hawley, Groove Frequencies and Will Donato. He's also performed with Roy Hargrove, Julio Iglesias, and The Dirty Dozen Brass Band. With his saxophone's rich, warm, soulful tone, he has made a name for himself on the local and national music scene performing as a soloist, and band leader. His "Second Sunday Smooth Jazz" events in San Antonio are a hit with fans and provide support to local charities.

In November 2017, BillyRay released his debut CD entitled "Silk", co-written and produced by guitarist Steve Oliver. The album contains the single "Heels and Pearls" which is currently in the TOP 20 national airplay chart on smooth jazz radio. BillyRay is currently seeking national club and festival dates to capitalize on his breakthrough radio success!
