With a career spanning since the 80s, BillyRay's musical roots delve deep into Blues, R&B, Reggae, Latin, Tejano, and Country genres, shaping his versatile and dynamic style. However, it's his unwavering love for jazz that has become the cornerstone of his artistic expression.
Renowned as a first-call smooth jazz performer, BillyRay has graced stages alongside industry luminaries like Steve Oliver, Peter White, Darryl Williams, Nathan Mitchell, Jacob Webb, Phylicia Rae, Adam Hawley, Greg Manning and many more, showcasing his rich, warm, and soulful saxophone tone. His stage performances include accompanying icons such as Roy Hargrove, Julio Iglesias, Ray Charles, Willie Nelson, and The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, solidifying his presence on both local and national stages.
In November 2017, BillyRay unveiled his debut album "Silk," a collaborative sensation with guitarist Steve Oliver. The album's single "Heels and Pearls" soared to the TOP 20 airplay chart on smooth jazz radio, cementing his position as a rising star in the genre.
Beyond his musical endeavors, BillyRay's commitment to community shines through his popular "Second Sunday Smooth Jazz” series, benefitting charitable organizations in his community. Over the last several years, these concerts, infused with BillyRay's magnetic performances, have raised over $55,000 in donations for deserving non-profits.
